About Us

Profitability Partners is a leading provider of profitability coaching services for hospitality venues such as hotels, bars , pubs, and restaurants. Our team of experts specialises in helping businesses in the hospitality industry improve their financial performance through the use of KPIs, forecasting, and budgeting.

We understand that the hospitality industry faces unique challenges when it comes to financial management. That’s why we work closely with each client to identify their specific needs and goals, and develop customised solutions that deliver results.

At Profitability Partners, our tagline “Always Improving” captures exactly how we work—and why we’re committed to the hospitality industry.

In a sector that moves fast and feels the pressure of daily operations, being profitable isn’t just about hitting targets—it’s about having a system that keeps getting better. That’s where our PERI framework comes in:

Planning, Execution, Results, and Improvements.

We help hospitality businesses plan ahead with purpose, execute with confidence, track meaningful results, and constantly improve based on what the numbers are telling us. It’s a cycle that builds momentum, drives smarter decisions, and keeps venues resilient and profitable—week after week.

“Always Improving” is more than a tagline—it’s how we show up for our clients. It means we’re hands-on, proactive, and focused on what’s next. We’re not here to give you a one-off solution. We’re here to build strong systems, uncover opportunities, and help you stay ahead—through every season, every shift, and every challenge.

That’s how we help you run a better business. Every time.

Transforming Hospitality Businesses through Numbers

The Dodo Australia Years (2004–2010)

Alistair’s odyssey began in 2004 when he joined Dodo Australia Pty Ltd, a trailblazing telecommunications company that offered affordable services in Australia Wide. Alistair assumed the role of Financial Controller, marking the genesis of his financial leadership journey. Dodo Australia, ever-evolving since its inception in 2001, provided services spanning mobile broadband, VoIP, home and car insurance, and gas and electricity.

As the Financial Controller at Dodo, Alistair’s expertise transcended traditional financial roles. He was the guiding force behind product growth, the opening of retail stores, the establishment of overseas call centers, and efficient billing practices. His ability to scrutinize and streamline financial processes bore substantial fruit. Alistair orchestrated a reduction in the size of the finance team, a decrease in the cost of goods, and a profound enhancement in billing analysis. These accomplishments brought about substantial improvements in the company’s profitability, setting the stage for his future endeavors.

Navigating Financial Waters at CDC Victoria (2010–2013)

Alistair’s journey took an exciting turn in 2010 when he assumed the role of Financial Controller at CDC Victoria Pty Ltd. This bus operator, with its mission to provide vital transportation in Melbourne, Ballarat, and Geelong, operated a sizable fleet of around 500 buses. Beyond its daily commuter services, CDC Victoria offered affordable charter services to schools, charities, sporting clubs, and various recreational groups.

In his role at CDC Victoria, Alistair was the financial gatekeeper, entrusted with financial reporting, budgeting, and maintaining cash flow. But, he went a step further. Alistair actively participated in building commercial relationships that strategically managed costs and bolstered revenue. His knack for financial optimization was once again on full display, firmly establishing his reputation as a financial maestro.

The Genesis of Profitability Partners: A Passion Ignited

Alistair’s journey through the corporate world was marked by an insatiable passion for helping businesses decipher the language of numbers. It was this unwavering zeal that inspired him to venture beyond the traditional confines of corporate finance and embark on a new journey.

Founded upon the bedrock of ten years of invaluable experience helping companies thrive, Alistair Jarvis established “Profitability Partners.” His vision was simple yet powerful – to be the guiding light for hospitality business owners. With a focus on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), forecasting, and budgeting, Alistair aims to empower these entrepreneurs to read the numbers and make data-driven decisions.

Profitability Partners is the culmination of Alistair’s journey, where he shares his expertise to transform hospitality businesses. His passion for profit coaching and his ability to decode the financial intricacies enable business owners to thrive in an industry where understanding the numbers can be the difference between success and stagnation.

Alistair Jarvis, the founder of Profitability Partners, is not just a Chartered Accountant; he’s a profit coach, a financial sage, and a driving force behind the prosperity of countless hospitality businesses. His story is a testament to the extraordinary impact that passion and dedication can have in the world of finance and business.
